Puerto Madryn (Welsh, Porth Madryn), colloquially called “Madryn”, is a city in the province of Chubut, Argentina. Chubut is located on the Argentine Sea, Atlantic Ocean and its capital city is Viedma. Puerto Madryn is considered the access to Península Valdés which was declared World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1999. One of the most important tourism centers of Patagonia and Argentina, Madryn holds to be the most populated coastal city in Southern Argentina. This village does not have more than 57,614.

Puerto Pirámides is a small seaside village located in a strategic point of Península Valdés, a few miles past Carlos Ameghino isthmus. Its crystal clear calm waters make it a preferred destination for spa vacations. The high cliffs in the form of the wind. Located on Golfo Nuevo, Puerto Pirámides has a population of approximately 300 inhabitants and their houses still preserve the original style of the early twentieth century.

Every winter whales visit the coasts of Puerto Pirámides and the visitors can enjoy their incredible shows on the sea.

Golfo Nuevo

The coast of Golfo Nuevo is located northeast of the province of Chubut in Patagonia, south of the isthmus that joins Península Valdés and the continent.

Located on the shore of Nuevo Golfo are the city of Puerto Madryn, the village Puerto Pirámides, the beach and the protected area of Punta Loma in El Doradillo. This is considered one of the best natural ports in the world and its depth reaches 180 metres.

Golfo Nuevo is visited annually by numerous specimens of southern right whales because it is an ideal place for mating and breeding (July to November). This annual migration across Península Valdés is an immense tourist attraction.

This gulf is 35 miles long and 25 wide. Its entrance is flanked by Morro and Punta Nuevas Ninfas southwest.

Golfo San José

Golfo San José is a gulf in the Atlantic coast of Argentina, located north of Península Valdés in the province of Chubut.

Deep in the gulf is Isla de los Pájaros declared “Wildlife Nature Reserve” because it is a nesting site for many species of seabirds, and the entire peninsula is a protected area.

Punta Tombo

Punta Tombo is a wildlife reserve on the Atlantic coast of the province of Chubut, in Argenina, and a major continental breeding colony of Magellanic Penguin (Spheniscus Magallanes) located 100 km south of the lower valley of Chubut river, where the cities of Trelew and Rawson are located.
